Crafted by a third-generation tea maker
Grown near Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan, our Pineapple Ruby Black Tea is crafted from cultivar No. 18, known as Ruby. This varietal is unique to Taiwan and was developed for its naturally sweet, fruit-forward aroma, requiring no additives or flavorings.
Leaves are hand-picked and patiently oxidized in small-batch cycles to deepen their signature profile. During the slow oxidation and curling process, the leaf’s natural characteristics unfold into layers of ripe pineapple, honeyed fruit, and gentle wintergreen on the finish.
The result is a bright, aromatic black tea that carries sweetness without bitterness, and depth without heaviness. All flavor comes from the leaf itself — no essences, no blends, no artificial aromatics.
Why This Tea is Special
Cultivar No. 18 is one of Taiwan’s most celebrated modern tea developments.
It is prized because its tropical fruit aroma occurs naturally — the result of:
- Taiwan’s humid mountain microclimate
- Heritage soil with high mineral complexity
- A cultivar bred for flavor clarity and sweetness
No flavoring. No perfume. Just nature and mastery.
